  “No. We’re not. There’s lube inside the glove compartment of my car and a box of condoms.”

  Jimmy raises his brows at that, but comes back with the items. He sheathes his member with a condom, and positions himself between my legs, lube in his hand. This entire night feels unbelievable and I’m terrified of it ending soon. What if I’m dreaming, and I’ll wake up to reality after all this is over? To a flea-bitten motel room with my car parked below, containing all my belongings?

  “What’s wrong?” Jimmy demands, lifting my legs over my shoulder. I’m hoping he doesn’t notice my change in behavior, but Jimmy does, making it all worse. Sometimes, when I lie alone at night in the expensive apartment I left in the city, I think of Jimmy. Imaginary Jimmy is never this observant and considerate.

  “It’s nothing,” I whisper. I decide I’m not going to ruin this perfect evening. “Come ride me, wolf.”

  Jimmy grins, and applies lube over his fingers and my waiting hole. I squirm as he slides a wet finger in me, then a second. Jimmy begins scissoring me for his access and I’ve become aware and in tune with everything around me—the cold metal pressing against my back, the chill of autumn, and Jimmy’s warm body holding onto mine.

  “Hurry,” I say in an urgent needy voice I barely recognize.

  Jimmy slaps my inner thigh, a love tap that jolts me awake. “Patience,” he growls. Then finally, he nudges his tip in. I moan at the size of him, but he takes his time. Once buried hilt-deep in me, the burn fades. Jimmy blankets his body over mine. Once our skin touch, I wrap my arms firmly around his neck. Jimmy begins to ride me, slow at first before building momentum until the force of his thrusts makes the car vibrate underneath us.

  Groaning, I sink my fingernails into his skin, but he doesn’t seem to mind. Jimmy switches angle, tearing a gasp from my throat.

  “Jimmy,” I began, but I can’t remember what I want to say. Jimmy aims for my sweet spot repeatedly. My insides melt and my head reels. The world falls away and only our two joined bodies matter. I pull Jimmy’s head close to mine, and sink my teeth into the side of his neck as he hammers his way inside me. It doesn’t take long for the pressure inside me to come close to bursting point.

  “Please,” I beg, releasing his neck.

  “Fucking feisty human, let me hear you come again,” he says against my ear. Jimmy reaches between our bodies and pinches my tip. I explode, breath hitching and muscles relaxing as another mind-blowing orgasm sweeps me away.

  I feel Jimmy’s shudder several thrusts later and know he’s close. Jimmy lets out a triumphant growl and climaxes. Then he collapses against me, his weight strangely a welcome relief. Jimmy feels incredibly warm against me, like a blanket. Dread closes on me as I recover. How long until I wake up and realize this is all a dream?

  “What’s wrong? Don’t fucking tell me again it’s nothing or I’m going to fuck it out of you,” Jimmy says.

  Since I have nothing to lose, I say, “I’m sacred this is all a dream I don’t want to wake up from.”

  I blink, but the dream doesn’t shatter because it’s reality. Jimmy is real and so are the hints of sunrise peeking through the thick cluster of trees. Hell, even Paul, the unconscious wolf is up, groaning in human form. Another large wolf sprints from the woods, shifting to examine Paul, before looking at us.

  “Um.”

  “Shut up,” Jimmy says, and then kisses me hard. “You still think this isn’t real?”

  I shake my head, a tiny smile on my lips. Feeling bold, I ask the question I’ve been dreading knowing the answer to because I don’t want this to be a one-time fling during a full moon. “What’s going to happen next?”

  “Breakfast with lots of bacon and waffles, then we talk.” Jimmy turns to his two pack mates. “Trig, is Paul alright?”

  “Yeah, good thing too, or he’ll just fuck whatever he sets his eyes on,” Trig says. “See you in town, Jimmy. Maybe you can introduce your human.”

  Trig and Paul shift back to wolves, before running into town.

  Jimmy gets off me, smirking. He gestures to the sign. “Welcome to Puppyville, Lee. Let’s get you some clothes then we eat.”
