“You’ve no idea what you’ve done,” Kris said, pressing a kiss to the side of Sam’s neck, where his mates mark was.
Sam twisted in his arms to look at him. “I can’t tell if that’s a compliment or accusation.”
“Alec’s never opened up like that. Ever. He made himself vulnerable for a moment when he told us he approved of you being my mate,” Kris explained.
“Alec’s a good guy,” Sam said. “He just needs a push in the right direction. Maybe Teddy and I could do a little match making.”
Kris laughed. “You guys can try, but most of the folks in town are terrified of us.”
“Doesn’t matter. I’ll find someone. Shifters are built in pairs. There’s one person out there in the world who’s born to be Alec’s mate.”
The determination in Sam’s eyes made his dick rock-hard. Teddy told him how brave Sam had been when Cyrus hunted them down. Sam could’ve run while Teddy distracted Cyrus, but his mate stayed behind because he couldn’t leave a pack mate. Sam still saw himself as the human outsider, but three days ago, his mate proved he was one of them. Kris was so damn proud of him.
He dug his groin against Sam’s jeans. Sam groaned.
“Enough talk about my brother,” he said. “Let’s talk about us.”
Three days had been enough to move all of Sam’s belongings from the old apartment Sam used to share with his dad to their cabin. Sam had officially moved to their home. It would take some adjusting, Kris knew, for Sam to drive up and down the mountain to work. Sam said he could get to work on his own, but Kris refused. He didn’t mind those quiet moments in the truck with his mate, and besides, he’d never risk Sam’s safety. The pack might have plenty of enemies but he wasn’t worried. Sam was part of the Wild Manes pack now.
“Oh, I like the sound of that,” Sam said with a smile. “Where do you plan to ravish me, naughty wolf?”
Kris silenced Sam with a kiss. He sucked on Sam’s bottom lip, nipped at it, drawing a little blood. Sam parted his mouth and Kris thrust his tongue down his throat. Damn. He’d never get enough of the sweet taste of his mate.
Kris pulled away, only to growl out two words. “Clothes. Off.”
“Babe, you know how much I like it when you go all savage on me.”
This was taking too long. Kris gripped a handful of Sam’s shirt and tore it, letting the fabric flutter to the ground.
“I loved that shirt,” Sam said with a pout. His mate, having learned his lesson, took off his pants and underwear and stood before him, naked.
“It was my shirt anyway, so no loss. You can always borrow another,” Kris said, stripping down as well. He was aware his mate watched his every move. Sam licked his lips and whistled. Kris grinned, grabbed Sam’s arm, and led him to the living room.
“Couch,” he ordered.
Sam lay down. Kris crawled on top of him. He kissed Sam on the mouth again and left more searing kisses down the side of Sam’s neck, his collarbones, his chest. Kris bit him as well, wanting Sam to wear his souvenirs the following day. Sam moaned under him. Kris could feel Sam’s dick hardening, like his own. He got off his mate.
“Face me,” he said.
Sam swung his legs off the couch as Kris knelt and parted his thighs. He leaned in close and blew at Sam’s balls and cock. His mate moaned as Kris closed one hand over Sam’s shaft and sucked at the red tip of Sam’s dick. His mate certainly deserved a reward after being so amazing and brave.
“Oh God, Kris.” Sam didn’t say anything else as Kris went to work.
He sheathed his mouth over Sam’s dick and began to blow him. Every moan and whimper that slipped from Sam’s mouth sounded like music to his ears. He bobbed his head up and down as Sam’s prick hardened. His own cock felt like a steel pipe between his legs. Kris needed to rut his mate or he’d soon go insane.
Kris pulled his mouth away just as Sam was about to blow. Sam let out frustrated breath as Kris stood up. His mate didn’t complain. Sam knew what came next. Sam went on all fours and pushed his ass at him in offering.
Damn but his mate looked so hot, so willing and eager for him. Kris let out a growl of appreciation.
“Fuck me,” Sam murmured.
Kris made a quick trip to the bedroom to grab the lube. He returned to his mate, positioned himself behind Sam. He gripped Sam’s ass cheeks and pried them apart. Sam parted his legs wider for him as he worked lube inside Sam’s hole. From this angle, Kris could see Sam’s balls and cock, which dripped pre-cum. Hunger overcame him, and so did the urge to possess his mate all over again.
He pulled his fingers out of Sam’s puckered hole and guided his prick in. Kris gripped Sam’s ass and penetrated him. He didn’t go slow and easy this time. Kris sheathed himself all the way in, feeling Sam’s inner muscles clamp down on his dick. He let out a breath.
“I never get sick of this,” Sam murmured.
If his mate could talk, it meant Kris wasn’t doing a good a job as he thought. Kris began to move, pumping in and out of Sam with steady, slow strokes. Sam moaned and clawed at the wooden floors as Kris rutted him. His balls tightened against his body. Kris would blow soon but not yet. He wanted to prolong this tender moment a little longer.
Kris quickened his pace, his breaths coming shorts. He reduced Sam and him to pants and groans. He shifted the angle of his thrusts and plunged into Sam’s ass again. His mate gasped, arching his back. He could sense his inner wolf, his soul rising to meet with Sam’s. The mating bond between them blazed to life, stronger than ever. Like steel. Never before did Kris felt so complete, so whole, when he’d been broken his entire life.
Kris went for Sam’s prostate repeatedly until his mate let out shuddering breath.
Sam came, screaming out his name. Kris hammered into Sam a few more times before filling Sam’s ass with warmth. He closed his eyes, not pulling his prick out yet. Kris withdrew his cock from Sam and joined his mate on the floor. Sam crawled to him, slid right on his lap like it was the most natural thing in the world to do.
Sam rested his head on his shoulder while Kris reached out to stroke his sweaty hair. Alec was right in some ways. Finding his mate wasn’t a magical cure that instantly mended what was wrong with him. His old man fucked up Alec and him up so badly that before Sam, all Kris could think about was fighting his brother. Kris was slowly breaking away from that habit because he had Sam now.
Sam made him feel like a new man, one capable of shedding the old skin of his past. Before, Kris only focused on the present, on survival, but now, he could see the future. When Kris first came to Ashfall Mountain, he didn’t think redemption was within reach of him and his brother. Sam proved him wrong. He knew Alec would find salvation as well. Sam was right. Somewhere out there was Alec’s fated mate.
“What are you thinking about?” Sam asked him so Kris told him.
“I’m glad we met, too,” Sam said.
“Love you,” he told his mate. Kris never thought he’d be able to say those three words to anyone.
Sam’s smile was like a bright ray of sunshine. “Love you back.”
